Free Online Price Guide
Keith Martin and eBay Motors
have teamed up to create the only completely sales-based (as
compared to opinion-based) collector car price guide. This week's
featured search is the 1969-76 Triumph
TR6. TR6s are a perennial entry-level collector car. A
robust drivetrain and good aftermarket parts supply has kept more
than a few on the road. Of course, they rust everywhere, so good
ones bring a premium. The CCPT now has over 1,600
TR6s for you to cruise
through. |
Buy/Sell/Hold: Collector Car Advice From the SCM
Experts Rolls-Royce Springfield
Silver Ghosts
SCM Contributor Diane Brandon says HOLD
If you've got a Springfield Silver
Ghost, especially an open one with original coachwork, sit on it.
These cars have been undervalued, in my opinion, and could make
market gains in the next five years. Comment at the SCM

MidAmerica Pebble Beach
Results
 Not everything that
crossed the block in Monterey had four wheels. From August 14-16,
MidAmerica Auctions hosted the first-ever motorcycle auction at
Pebble Beach, where 27 of 83 bikes sold for a $547,562 total. High
sale was a 1912 Flying Merkel VS at $98,100. See the complete 2009
results here. |
Featured Collectible Classic
1922-29 Bentley 3 Liter
The first WO Bentley and the one
with the longest production run, the 3 Liter remains surprisingly
affordable, provided you can think in six figures. The "Red Label"
Speed model lasted until 1929, and there were other less sporting
variants with green and blue labels made in longer wheelbases, and
even ungainly sedan bodies. Read here about the one
that recently sold for $257,255. Comment at the SCM

It's Good to be The
King...
On September 4, Kruse International
asked you not to live like a king, but to live like THE KING. The
company offered fractional ownership in Elvis's Palm Springs
estate, which had been granted by the city with a commercial
business license. That means fractional new owners can host
corporate retreats, weddings, tours, Elvis look-alike parties, or
any other business venture that would suit the 5,500 square-foot
home. |

Who says the movie has to be
like the book? The Old Testament could have been quite a bit
shorter, if Moses had this handy device. Or maybe he just didn't
want to ask for directions? (Warning - profanity).
